SOFTBALL SELECT SPRING 2025
The Select Program was established to provide an additional opportunity for players who wish to improve their softball skills beyond the regular league season and experience advanced level of competition. This program is for 8U through 14U players who wish to improve their softball skills and thereby benefit themselves as well as their league.
If you are interested in being considered for our Select Program, the interest list is live and you can sign up after registering for the season. The Select Program is an opportunity for players to receive more advanced instruction and competition. Select events are in addition to the regular Season Program.

The final list of players who have completed the interest form will be shared with the Select Managers.
Players’ skills will be assessed during tryouts.
Due to the limited number of teams, not all players will be “selected.”
WHAT IS FV SELECT SOFTBALL?
The Select Program was established to provide an additional opportunity for players who wish to improve their softball skills beyond the regular league season and experience advanced level of competition. This program is for 8U through 14U players who wish to improve their softball skills and thereby benefit themselves as well as their league.
The FALL Select program will run from AUG-DEC and the SPRING Select Program will be in effect JAN 1-MARCH 30.
The Select Program is an opportunity for a chosen number of girls from each age division (8U-14U) to participate on a separate team (from their FVBSA rec team) and compete against other select teams from Southern California. The select team meets on Sundays for practice during rec season play and will participate in USA SOFTBALL sanctioned tournaments throughout their season.
The Select program is a great environment for players to continue improving their skills in a competitive environment. Playing/Practicing with a Select team during the fall or spring seasons DOES NOT guarantee your daughter a roster spot on a future All-Star team or future Select team. However, if your daughter is chosen to play on a select team, it is because she has been identified as a player with a skillset that the league would like to further develop and represent FVBSA in competitive softball.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Select players must be individually registered with FVBSA.
Select players must be drafted onto an active recreation league team roster in the current season.
Select players must play in a minimum of 75 percent of the leagues scheduled games during the current season.
Due to the limited number of teams, not all girls will be “selected” and attending an OPEN WORKOUT or TRYOUT does not guarantee a spot on the team.
WHAT IS THE PLAYER/PARENT COMMITMENT?
Be available for, and participate in all scheduled tournaments.
Participate in all team functions, practices, team meetings and/or fundraisers.
Practices and Games will be Sundays only for SPRING, FALL-Days may vary.
Willingness to play any position(s), your Select Manager assigns you to play, taking in consideration the best interest of the team.
Acceptance that playing time is left to the discretion of the manager and understand players may have limited play time during games.
As a parent or guardian, arranging and providing for all travel, overnight accommodations, and meals associated with the team events.
WHAT IS THE COST ?
FALL SELECT:
Cost for the season is $100-$200 per player and includes a jersey and socks. Players will split additional tournament fees and friendlies as they are scheduled.
Fall Select Teams will run through Dec 31.
Playing on the Select Team does not guarantee a spot on the Spring Select or Summer All-Star team.
Select Registration Fees are not refundable for any reason.

SPRING SELECT:
Cost for the season is TBD per player and includes a full uniform, 2 tournaments, Fields/lights and insurance. Players will split the cost of additional uniform items, tournament fees and friendlies as they are scheduled.
Spring Select Teams will run through March 30.
Playing on the Select Team does not guarantee a spot on the Summer All-Star team.
Select Registration Fees are not refundable for any reason.
