Score Keeping Tutorial

Score keeping for your team is an important function to your team and for the league.  Beyond recording the win/loss record for your particular team/game, it is also an important tool in helping protect your kids and specifically your pitchers from overuse. Before we proceed, first watch the videos below:

How To Keep a Score Book Part 1 (Video)

How To Keep a Score Book Part 2 (Video)

Now that you have a better understanding on how to keep a scorebook, now you must enter the results with the league for our records. To do so, simply go to either the FV Pony Baseball or FV ASA Softball Page, located on the horizontal tabs towards the top of the website. Once your page is open, click on the "Score Report" tab to the left. Once the report is open, you will need to fill out all of the requested info. Remember, for Pony Baseball you will need to enter the innings pitched for the pitchers along with their jersey number. For Softball, you will need to enter the outs pitched for the pitcher along with their jersey number.

Notes Regarding Boys Pitchers: If a pitcher steps onto the field as the designated pitcher, no matter how long they play as the pitcher in a particular inning, that counts for 1 complete inning pitched. There are no partial innings when considering innings pitched. Once they have thrown 1 pitch in a particular inning, that will be recorded as one inning pitched. Please see the Local Rules of Play for limits of play regarding pitchers for each division.

Notes Regarding Girls Pitchers: A pitcher does not have to make the out for an out to count against her. If the defensive team makes an out, that counts as an out pitched for the pitcher. Also, in the event that the pitcher or team does not record an out and the opposing team scores to the max runs allowed for the particular inning in their particular division, that will be recorded as 3 outs, even though 3 outs were not made by the team.  Please see the Local Rules of Play for limits of play regarding pitchers for each division.

EXCEEDING THE MAX INNINGS/OUTS AVAILABLE FOR A PARTICULAR PITCHER IN A GAME WILL RESULT IN A FORFEIT. REPEATED VIOLATIONS WILL RESULT IN MANAGER SUSPENSION
